Sonic Forces & Joining Me for the IDWs

So, I uh, tried Sonic Forces for the first time.

yeah okay i sorta get the hate the game is an absolute slog. regardless, I started playing it because I wanted to read the Sonic IDWs and that's where the comics began.

after about 8 stages of that game however, i am not finishing it, apparently its not that necessary anyway so whatever. i'm gonna start writing blogposts about my feelings on the IDWs, starting with issue 1

actually a small detour first, acquiring these things was STUPID. i am NOT paying a subscription to amazon for these, and the hardcover versions are expensive, so, just so you are aware, i am reading these through an illegimate source, if that bothers you, go somewhere else. or get better morals idk. for clarity, i do plan on acquiring the hardcover versions when i have the money, but now is not that time.

okay on to the actual comic itself. we'll be going in chronological order according to ponett and naturally, starting at issue #1.

its worth stating, i don't really read comic books much, or well, writing in general anymore. I haven't read a real book on my own in probably close to 10 years and don't consume much fanfiction hence my own writing (more to come later) being pretty subpar. some things might be insanely cool for a comic to do and i'll have no real reaction to it, some might be the opposite where i think its really cool and its not super interesting. that's just how it goes though.

i do think this first issue is a good start though! its quick and easy to grab, everything makes sense and nothing is out of place, it even has really good Tails content, something i feel the first 8 stages of Forces was really missing (ill shut up about it after this post, probably)

while i doubt they would come down on me for posting screengrabs from the comic, unless something really stands out to me, i'm not going to provide images and leave it to you to look into. i might change this in the future though, tails is really cute in this first issue and i can't resist posting at least one image of him when mentioning him.
