LocalFox's Blog AdventuresWhat is WTFEAIPL?07/11/26DO WHAT THE FUCK YOU WANT TO (EXCLUDING ARTIFICIAL INTELLEGENCE) PUBLIC LICENSE (or WTFEAIPL for short) is a public license heavily based off of WTFPL by Sam Hocevar The idea behind the original license is that you can do whatever the FUCK you want to do. This is a nice license and I have used it in the past, but as someone who isn't a fan of LLMs (especially in the indieweb space), I decided to make a modified version of it. You can read it, copy it, etc here Frequently Asked QuestionsMost questions can be answered by the WTFPL FAQ. But there are a few i'm sure will be asked in relation to MY specific version of it. Q: [Insert any question/comment/statement of feedback that is critical of profanity] A: this is covered in the original's FAQ, tl;dr: fuck off. now for real questions Q: Is this license legally binding? A: iunno. probably. Q: How does this license apply to your website? A: All my code falls under it, if code is from someone else it will have a comment and you should seek out that specific resource for its license. Q: I don't think this will actually stop AI scrapers, do you? A: i dont care. its the principle. this is for other living beings. Q: Can I use your specific version of the license? A: absolutely! that is part of the point of why i made my version of the license. Q: Is there anything not in the license that I should know? A: i'd prefer credit if you use any of my stuff. you don't have to, that's part of the license, but i'd like it if you did. Q: [I/Someone Else] have/has already made this license verbatim A: oops! this is probable enough for me to put this in here ahead of time! i didn't copy you/them, this has always been my feelings on this subject since I started coding this website, if you can prove you did it first though I will happily mention you on this website/blog post. feel free to email me, or throw me a message on my guestbook/cbox Q: Hey, I have a comment or a question you didn't cover, what do? A: Contact me via any of the methods mentioned above. |
